Based, in part, on selected materials stemming from each of this program’s international conferences they make up an innovative book series on the issue of providing affordable and sustainable housing in a global context. These multi-authored edited books offer a series of theoretical explorations of the range of geographically specific issues that emerge from the related conference series. The Housing – Critical Futures Book Series is a scholarly engagement with the issues of housing from leading academics internationally. Submissions are via the associated conference series in the first instance. The next book is the series is scheduled for June 2016. Three books are planned in the initial series and each is split into three sections: The documentation of the work of established design studios essays on the practice of residential design and its teaching from researchers and academics the documentation of student projects from across the world. The aim of this series is to forefront the practical and innovative analyses and solutions from the realm of design and highlight the issue of housing for the next generation of architects and planners.ĭeveloped in conjunction with Libri Publishing, the series Housing the Future is launched in December 2015 with the title: Housing The Future – Alternative Approaches for Tomorrow. This book series is focused on the design of housing for affordable, sustainable solutions. All abstracts will remain available through this platform. These issues will be open access and available on the UCL Press website. As the official publisher of the Architecture_MPS journal from October 2015, UCL Press will publish these Special Issue Publications. These Special issues will draw together the work of between three and six authors into a coherent thematic analysis. These themed publications will deal with issues that emerge from across the conference so as to complement other proposed publications resulting from this program. Together with these two publishers, AMPS and its own journal, Architecture_MPS are engaged in the following publications as part of the Housing – Critical Futures programme:Īs the originator of this project the scholarly journal Architecture_MPS will publish a series of special issues dedicated to a range of sub-issues drawn from each conference.
